ARTIST’S STATEMENT

Painting found me. I didn't study art. I listen and watch Mother Nature and then I fearlessly experiment. Painting is a magnificent place where I get lost yet still know who I am, what I am and how I serve. My emotions and life experiences are layered into each painting; the resilience of my European roots is entwined with the rugged rawness of my home in natural Canada. When I paint I feel the Joy of Nature flowing through me and I realize I was put on earth to share Her light as a reminder of what is possible.

ABOUT HEIDI'S WORK

“Soft lines overlaid by resin's high gloss distinction defines Heidi Wienike's unique approach to modern Impressionistic painting. Using the intrinsic quality of acrylic paint, Heidi's abstracts and landscape-abstracts come alive in a three-dimensional play of light and form. Her orchestra of vast color palettes and textures convey the element of sound and movement into her style of balanced, harmonious works.

Heidi's tactile relationship with her materials is key to her process. In her experience, the resin's volatile application and drying process ‘is a technique of risk should the materials not cooperate.’ She adds, ‘I have learned that resin has a life of its own and I am only the humbled observer.’

With influences from Monet, Richter and The Group of Seven, Heidi's style is consistent yet each painting stands alone in its unique representation. Hence Heidi has been working full-time on client commissions since 2009. Her paintings can be found in various private and corporate collections.”
